Zeetta Networks and Ixia have partnered together to provide new network capabilities for network operators.

Using Zeetta Network’s NetOS solution coupled with Ixia’s Hawkeye solution, operators have access to new capabilities that include real-time and on-demand visibility to network and application performance in network slices, and across common physical network infrastructure.

Speaking exclusively with Capacity Vassilis Seferidis, CEO of Zeetta Networks, said: “what we are doing with our technology is setting up pipes of connectivity from point A to point B, what Ixia is doing is almost setting up a probe at both point A and B and tests to make sure that the pipe we’ve set up conforms to the specification we need. But it’s the importance of having an independent third party to verify this.”

On the decision to partner with Ixia over any other testing companies, Seferidis said: “Ixia is one of the most respected third party technology testing companies around, they test networks, devices, all different kinds of technologies and it was very important for us to work with the leaders in that space.”

Zeetta Networks’ NetOS multi-tenant dynamic network slicing and monitoring platform enables the configuration, provisioning, managing and optimisation of end-to-end virtual network slices. By coupling this with Ixia Hawkeye, managed service providers can create network services and applications as part of their offering. Resulting in more available, reliable, and valuable services for end users, while network owners and operators get improved network agility whilst having reducing network operating expenditures.

“Through our partnership with Ixia, our respective technologies are creating new business models for infrastructure owners, allowing tenants to manage and control their own network slice. The Zeetta Networks’ platform creates streams of data analytics concerning network traffic and end-user behaviour that will enable new creative applications that third parties are building on top of the NetOS platform”, added Seferidis.

He explained that because you can guarantee connectivity through this technology, you can you can ensure that it is maintained through the measurements/monitoring of Ixia’s Hawkeye.

“For example if you’re a service provider and you want to deliver 10Mbps to the home, continued Seferidis. “You can guarantee that this is going to be 10Mbps and not up to 10Mbps. You can guarantee those things instead of promising or making a best effort to achieve those speeds.”

Seferidis was recently appointed to the board of the Independent Networks Cooperative Association (INCA), a move that he says plays into the decisions made at Zeetta Networks because it’s “another network focused on the cable and developing fibre optic networks in big cities making it a part of the 5G global network proposition.”

For the rest of the year he says that company is going to continue its 5G deployment and engagement with bigger players in the market. Particularly with vendors and projects, especially those coming from the department of Digital, Culture, Media & Sport.
