Sparkle partners with France-IX for Seabone transit services

Sparkle has struck a partnership with France-IX that will see the Italian carrier offer its tier-1 transit service Seabone to France-IX members.

The strategic partnership sees Sparkleoffer Seabone - one of the Top 10 global IP backbones – to France-IX members through its hubs in Paris and Marseille.

The agreement also means that global customers will be able to connect to France-IX from any of Sparkle’s points of presence through an enriched VNAP solution. This includes access to a virtual router, an Ethernet port and the immediate inclusion in “the peering club”.

Sparkle – TIM Group’s international carrier arm – has backbone ofaround 560,000km of fibre spanning Europe, Africa, the Americas and Asia. It offers IP, data, cloud, data centre, mobile data, and voice solutions to fixed and mobile operators, internet service providers, media and content players, and enterprises.

It has partnerships with a number of internet exchanges, including DE-CIX, Equinix and NetIX, and assets across several subsea cable systems.

It recently announced an EMEA video partnership with Aldea Solutions, while in November it expanded its Virtual NAP to Istanbul with DE-CIX.
