Telehouse deploys PacketFabric to its data centres

Telehouse is partnering with network-as-a-service platform PacketFabric in two of its New York data centres.
Under the new partnership the two companies will be able to extend their carrier and data centre environments. Customers of KDDI subsidiary Telehouse in any of its Tier 3 data centres can now access the PacketFabric network platform, which includes internet exchange point, internet service provider and cloud service provider service
“We are very excited to increase the number of locations where Telehouse can offer services to their customers, while allowing our customers to access Telehouse customers and services,” said William Charnock, CEO of PacketFabric. “This partnership is a natural fit, expanding the ecosystem for both companies across our carrier grade SDN-based network.”
By using PacketFabric’s network, Telehouse is able to extend its internet exchange services and its multi-cloud connectivity exchange – Telehouse Cloud Interconnect – expanding its carrier-neutral data centre services. In turn, PacketFabric increases its US footprint and OTT service offerings.
Telehouse owns and operates 48 data centres worldwide. The PacketFabric network platform is immediately available at Telehouse’s Staten Island facility, with additional US deployments to be completed by the end of 2017.
“Telehouse has been expanding our connectivity and cloud solutions both domestically and globally as we continuously seek to offer greater flexibility and choice to our data centre customers,” adeed Akio Sugeno, vice president of internet engineering, operations and business development at Telehouse America. “We expect more deployments with the addition of new global locations coming on the PacketFabric network this year.”
Earlier this month PacketFabric partnered with Webair to offer ransomware recovery-as-a-service and compliance cloud offerings across 130-plus nodes through PacketFabric's SDN-based network.
