BTS sets up joint venture with SoftBank to manage voice traffic

Miami-based Business Telecommunications Services (BTS) has formed a joint venture with Japanese operator SoftBank to outsource the companies’ voice traffic.
The new operation, to be called S and BTS Global, will be based in Tokyo and will manage SoftBank’s international voice traffic. At the same time the new venture will also manage BTS’s Asian traffic.
BTS said: “The new company will combine the complementary strengths of its parent corporations in telecommunications, e-commerce, internet and technology services to revolutionise the next wave of innovation in the international telecom industry.”
It added: “Moreover, the partnership will bring a diversified portfolio of hubbing, cloud and managed services as a key player in the global market place.”
BTS provides an international network of direct routes with international operators and to terminate high-quality voice traffic.
It is a licensed operator in the US, Latin America, Europe and Africa with more than 100 direct links as part of its over 600 interconnections worldwide. It has hubs in Madrid, London, Paris, Frankfurt, Milan, New York, Panama, Guatemala and Miami.
