Latin American wholesale provider GlobeNet has launched a new security solution that allows carriers and internet service providers to protect against DDoS attacks.

Distributed denial of service, or DDoS, is when hackers try to cause a network outage by overloading it with data or attempted accesses. It is a growing threat, with attacks becoming both larger in scale and more advanced.

GlobeNet’s DDoS Guard offers users 24/7 protection against both volumetric and application targeted threats regardless of their frequency, size, or duration, and guarantees maximum performance without any downtime.

It includes a scrubbing capacity of 1.44 Tbps, with GlobeNet’s security team offering detailed analysis and traffic reports after any incident.

“As we’ve seen over the past few years, DDoS attacks can be crippling for a business, causing hours of downtime and millions of dollars to resolve,” said Eduardo Falzoni, CEO of GlobeNet.

“It is absolutely crucial in the current online environment that companies protect their infrastructure from these devastating attacks. The GlobeNet team is well equipped to offer the highest level of protection from DDoS and other cyber-attacks through its new DDoS Guard solution.”
