Sparkle has been selected by the association of universities and academy of sciences of the Czech Republic, CESNET, as its main global IP transit service provider.

Sparkle’s Seabone services are being made available to CESNET, which is in charge of the development of the national e-infrastructure for science, research and education in the Czech Republic.

The purpose of awarding this public contract was an increase in capacity and significant improvement in the parameters of international connectivity and its technological and economic optimisation.

The deal comes as a result of the “IP connectivity abroad” public tender won by Sparkle’s local internet service provider (ISP) partner Prozeta and after last week’s announcement that Sparkle had signed an IP services deal with Bulgaria’s NetIX.

The contracting entity’s project is called "E-infrastructure CESNET" and is funded by the ministry of education, youth and sports of the Czech Republic.
