Sparkle signs IP services deal with Bulgaria’s NetIX
07 February 2017 | Jason McGee-Abe
Sparkle, the international service arm of TIM Group, has partnered with NetIX, the Bulgarian internet Ethernet exchange, offering its Seabone global IP transit service to members.
By offering its services to members at the Sofia-based NetIX hub, where members can exchange traffic with more than 2,700 direct peers, the Tier-1 service will improve the coverage of and expand the customer base of Sparkle’s virtual network access point (VNAP) service in Europe.
Leveraging its 560,000km global backbone, Sparkle will be able to attract new customers among NetIX members whilst enriching its own VNAP customer base, which will provide customers with a "virtual presence" without deploying IP equipment nor implementing and managing complex proprietary international infrastructure. Performance is guaranteed with Sparkle’s state-of-the-art MPLS backbone.
The news comes after Ooredoo Tunisia launches a multi-service point of presence (PoP) at Sparkle’s Sicily Hub, which is served by Seabone.
