Global Capacity boosts Ethernet services availability

Global Capacity has increased the density of its nationwide Ethernet services footprint, satisfying the growing demand for hybrid and SD-WAN network solutions.

Global Capacity’s investment in central office (CO) facility equipment enables it to leverage existing copper infrastructure to deliver from 1Mbps up to 100Mbps access directly to customers.

“As demand for our Ethernet offerings continues to soar, Global Capacity recognizes the need to respond quickly to businesses to provide scalable solutions that can meet demand as they grow,” said Jack Lodge, president, Global Capacity.

“Global Capacity will continue to expand Ethernet coverage in 2017 to address the need to connect to high-value destinations, including private and public Cloud, business applications, internet and data centres.”

Global Capacity has made the following services available to an additional 302,188 new commercial addresses in 264 cities across 36 metro markets in 20 states:

- Ethernet over Copper (EoC): Offers symmetric speeds ranging from 1Mbps up to 100Mbps to over 2.2 million business addresses. Businesses, including those without fibre connectivity, gain access to a high-bandwidth, resilient and cost-efficient service.

- Asymmetric Ethernet (AsyE): Offers asymmetric speed up to 50/10Mbps and fills the gap for businesses where other broadband services fall short. It offers COS business-class uptime guarantees and MPLS and voice application support.

Both services are based on location availability.

Network, cloud, application, and over-the-top (OTT) service providers can establish Ethernet network-to-network interface (ENNI) with Global Capacity’s One Marketplace to drive down access charges and reach more than 9.8 million business locations. Global Capacity has further simplified the purchase of its access services by reducing 1Gbps ENNI port charges to zero dollars for all new interconnections.

Global Capacity has also announced the availability of its Ethernet multi-cloud connect service which leverages an interconnection architecture with software orchestration, simplifying multi-cloud connectivity and enhancing service performance.

The latest virtual network service, which combines Ethernet and cloud connect with Global Capacity’s One Marketplace software-defined network (SDN) platform, offers enterprises the flexibility to build multiple cloud services from a single port in real time to access hybrid and multi-cloud solutions across multiple locations and gain the performance and security necessary to compete in today's marketplace. It streamlines end-to-end multi-point services across the cloud ecosystem and simplifies connectivity to AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Equinix Cloud Exchanges.

"With the migration of data, applications, and storage to the cloud, edge connectivity is becoming more complex. Global Capacity is simplifying that complexity with its One Marketplace platform," added Lodge, president of Global Capacity.

“Our interconnected approach combined with information and automation allows businesses to turn up services faster, boost cloud application performance, reduce latency, scale and improve network control and visibility to achieve a quality Cloud experience.”
