SUNeVision, a premium carrier neutral data centre service provider in Hong Kong, has announced the immediate availability of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Direct Connect in SUNeVision’s MEGA Campus (comprising the MEGA-i and MEGA Two data centres).
With AWS Direct Connect in the carrier neutral MEGA Campus, customers can now have a secure, direct expressway to connect to the AWS cloud to reduce network costs, increase throughput, improve latency, enhance security, and provide a more consistent network experience than Internet-based connections.
“Through AWS Direct Connect, SUNeVision is enabling our customers to directly connect to the local AWS gateway in a secured, speedy and cost-effective manner. Customers co-locating their IT infrastructure in our MEGA Campus can connect to AWS directly with a simple cross connect,” said Peter Yan, executive director and chief executive officer of SUNeVision Holdings.
“We also empower members of the AWS Partner Network (APN) within MEGA Campus to connect their customers to AWS. Customers and Network Service Providers can now leverage our MEGA Campus to securely and instantly incorporate AWS Cloud services into their existing infrastructure to build cost-effective and agile hybrid cloud solutions.”
With AWS Direct Connect, customers can transfer their business critical data directly from the data centre, office, or colocation environment into and from AWS, bypassing internet service providers (ISPs) and removing network congestion.
Customers can also use AWS Direct Connect to establish a private virtual interface from any on-premise network directly to their Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), providing them with a private, high bandwidth network connection between their network and their VPC. With multiple virtual interfaces, customers can even establish private connectivity to multiple VPCs while maintaining network isolation. AWS Direct Connect’s simple pay-as-you-go pricing and no minimum commitment means customers pay only for the network ports they use and the data they transfer over the connection, which can greatly reduce networking costs.
With AWS, customers take advantage of a scalable, reliable, and secure global computing infrastructure that powers hundreds of thousands of businesses in 190 countries around the world. By using AWS Direct Connect in SUNeVision’s MEGA Campus data centres, customers can be assured to have reliable and fast connections to AWS with low latency, high security, and reliable and consistent performance at affordable pricing.
