Webair, DE-CIX partner in NY1 direct peering launch

Webair Partners has partnered with DE-CIX to provide direct peering services at its on Long Island-based NY1 data centre.

NY1 customers will now have access DE-CIX New York via Webair’s advanced interconnection fabric or secure physical cross-connects, enhancing reliability, performance and reducing the costs of network traffic exchange.

"The network deployment model for consuming cloud and hybrid services continues to grow in complexity as customers' business needs evolve," said Michael Christopher Orza, CEO of Webair.

"Providing them with a vast array of connectivity options such as DE-CIX's internet exchange directly into their cloud or hybrid colocation helps future-proof their infrastructure in addition to enhancing performance and lowering costs."

Connection to DE-CIX New York utilises Webair's connectivity options available at speeds ranging from 100Mbps to 10Gbps. The new level of interconnectivity provides Webair customers with the opportunity to lower network traffic exchange costs, reduce latency and enhance IP performance and resilience by tapping into the DE-CIX network.

With this partnership, we are expanding our availability for networks - now for the first time for networks on Long Island. We continue to be - by far - the most accessible IX in the New York area."

Customers can also access a multitude of transport, transit and public fabrics that are either built into the facility directly or via Webair's MMR extensions to 60 Hudson Street, 111 8th Avenue and 325 Hudson Street, New York.
