Colt appoints three execs to spearhead bandwidth drive

Colt Technology Services has appointed three senior executives to aid its ongoing transformation programme refocused on delivering its fibre-based, high-bandwidth solutions.

With the shift towards the adoption of cloud-based infrastructure placing greater demand on latency and bandwidth on network services, Colt is planning significant investments over the next 12 months, and has appointed a chief commercial officer (CCO) and two vice presidents to “lead the charge”, the firm has disclosed in a statement.

Tom Regent will join as CCO and a member of the executive leadership team, effective September 19. He’ll be tasked with leading Colt’s global sales, presales and marketing teams and will report to CEO Carl Grivner. He joins from BT Global Services, where he was most recently acting as president of global banking and financial markets.

Regent, who has also previously held roles at AT&T, said: “Colt has the best assets in the industry, second to none, and is implementing a bold new strategy to tap into the demand for mission critical high bandwidth across Europe and Asia. I am excited to be part of the team who will drive this transformation.”

Paula Cogan joins Colt from Verizon Partner Solutions as vice president of enterprise and partner sales in Europe and Tim Passingham joins from Level 3 to become vice president of wholesale sales in Europe.

“We employ the best talent globally, and through our business transformation Colt is challenging the industry incumbents who have large networks but are slow to respond to needs of businesses,” CEO Carl Grivner said of the appointments.
