Du launches 20GB FTTH service in partnership with Huawei

Dubai-based provider du is delivering 20GB broadband services over its fibre to the home (FTTH) solution for residential subscribers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

This is the first service of its type to be launched commercially in the Middle East and Africa. This network provides ultra-fast broadband access. Customers will benefit from even faster upload and download speeds, and reduce latency in the home network.

Jasim Al Awadi, vice president, network infrastructure and services, du, said: “This initiative, jointly deployed with Huawei, will effectively enable us to provide a better customer experience with new services and solutions."

The growth of du’s network, data centre and video services now challenges its access network. Du has responded by cooperating with Huawei to deploy a 20G broadband network that will handle the increasing data from subscribers.
