Silver Peak adds customers to its SD WAN

Silver Peak has signed up 100 new paying customers for its software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) solution in the past nine months, the company announced yesterday

Silver Peak has signed up 100 new paying customers for its software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) solution in the past nine months, the company announced yesterday. These new customers are in addition to the more than 200 customers already using SD-WAN solutions from Silver Peak, the firm added.

Customers for the new service, called Unity EdgeConnect, are from a wide number of industries, from architecture and legal to energy and high-technology, it said.

One customer, a health club called Spare Time Clubs, has linked its guest wireless network and its internet circuits at each club, dramatically improving performance and reliability, said IT manager Lee Edwards.

“Until we deployed Silver Peak’s EdgeConnect, we were stuck with poor performing network access from each of our locations. By being able to turn both of our broadband links into an active-active pairing, we’ve improved our performance and are able to include WAN optimisation only where it’s needed.”

DSA Technologies installed the system for Spare Time Clubs.“SD-WAN has opened up many new opportunities for us and it’s one of the hottest topics our customers want to know about,” said Michael Pearson, founder and CEO of DSA Technologies.

“There is so much value to the customer and to us as partner, we believe working with Silver Peak and helping our customers build a better WAN is a game-changer for us and the industry.”
