China Unicom and ZTE sign SDN and NFV agreement

China Unicom and ZTE have signed a strategic cooperation agreement on software defined network and network functions virtualisation.
The partnership will seek to implement SDN and NFV applications, promote network transformation, business innovation and service upgrade for China Unicom.
Both parties will cooperate using open source technology, application scenarios, product requirements, service applications, market development of SDN and NFV technologies and generate research results meeting network evolution requirements.
In addition, they will propose draft standards and patent applications as well as jointly apply for and undertake national key research projects in the SDN and NFV field.
