PCCW Global and Telstra sign IPX agreement

PCCW Global and Telstra International have signed an IPX multi-service interconnection agreement aimed at the development of new markets and initiatives.

The partnership is said to enable PCCW Global and Telstra to expand into other segments while improving their existing portfolio for their mobile and multinational customers.

“Our collaboration with Telstra is key to the development of new initiatives for the region. Australia and Hong Kong being leading LTE markets, IPX will be critical to support mobile data growth and quality expectations from the subscribers,” said Emmanuel Bain, PCCW Global’s head of voice business.

Mobile operators connected to PCCW Global IPX will have access to its MobileXchange service suite, which includes VoIPX, VoLTE, LTE roaming, GRX, SCCP and cloud-based applications such as unified communication-as-a-service, security-as-a-service and OTT services.

According to PCCW Global, Australia is a well-development market with tech-savvy subscribers seeking the latest services, applications which IPX can deliver.

Telstra's executive director of global wholesale, Ellie Sweeney, said: "Working with PCCW Global will give us the scalability to grow with the demand and the opportunity to expand into new areas.”
