Telenor appoints Denmark CEO

Telenor has appointed Jesper Hansen as chief executive officer of its Danish operations, following his temporary appointment in June this year.

Hansen replaces Marek Slacik who has moved to Telenor Sweden to serve as its marketing director.

Hansen has served in senior management roles at Telenor for the last 15 years, most recently as customer director.

“Jesper has a strong strategic understanding and has helped to drive Telenor Denmark far on its transformation journey,” said Sigve Brekke, group CEO at Telenor.

“In Telenor we are used to intensely competitive markets and I am confident of Jesper’s leadership in just such a market.”

Telenor allegedly remains undecided on its future in the Danish telecoms market, and in September this year, Telenor and TeliaSonera withdrew plans to merge their business units in Denmark
