NTT Communications is set to expand its Tier-1 global IP network with a PoP in Marseille, France.
The company’s latest PoP in Marseille is said to facilitate the delivery of reliable, high-quality wholesale IP services between high growth markets and Europe.
“We are thrilled to extend our footprint into Marseille, one of Europe’s largest interconnection hubs,” said Clive Hamilton, VP of network services at NTT Europe.
“This PoP will allow NTT Com to serve not only new customers but also existing customers in other parts of the world looking to expand and add services in fast-growing markets in Africa, the Middle East and Asia.”
Marseille is the interconnection point for eight international subsea cables that link Europe to Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
As well as providing access to highly strategic subsea cables, the PoP is also located at a major carrier-neutral facility – Interxion’s data centre MRS1 – which houses a community of over 70 connectivity providers.
