Telekom Austria reveals new CEO
24 July 2015 |
Telekom Austria Group has appointed Alejandro Plater as CEO, after Hannes Ametsreiter unexpectedly resigned last month.
Plater was appointed COO at the Austrian operator in March, and will take his new position on August 1 2015.
His appointment was backed by the group’s two majority shareholders América Móvil and Österreichische Bundes- und Industriebeteiligungen GmbH (ÖBIB).
“Today’s decision is a good solution for the further development of Telekom Austria Group and we have set a clear and cost-efficient management board structure," said Wolfgang Ruttenstorfer, chairman of the supervisory board at Telekom Austria Group.
The departing Ametsreiter is expected to become CEO of Vodafone Germany later this year.
Last week, Telekom Austria announced its financial results for the first half of FY15, with revenues remaining stable at €1,938.8 million compared to the previous year.
