As part of the project, Huawei supplied its cloud-based IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) core applications and cloud-based EMS (Element Management System) as well as MANO-VNFM (Management and Orchestration-Virtualized Network Function Management.
The move follows a number of high-profile collaborations between UK-based Vodafone and the Chinese vendor. In March 2014, it selected Huawei forits Project Spring initiatives, which included delivering a number of network enhancement projects, products and services for Vodafone’s radio access networks in 15 countries.
In June, the two companies signed a MoU to explore opportunities in the enterprise market in Europe, Asia-Pacific and Africa.
