Interoute launches VDC in Zurich

Interoute has launched a virtual data centre (VDC) in Zurich, marking its second cloud zone in Switzerland.

The VDC in Zurich is said to have been been built in response to customer demand for location sensitive cloud sites across Europe. It brings the operator’s total number of VDCs to 14 worldwide

“Businesses operating in Switzerland and in Europe need fast and powerful cloud services and that requires local sites. As one of the fastest growing enterprise cloud services providers, we are building out our networked cloud which enables us to deliver fast and reliable services that are in close geographical proximity to our customers," said Matthew Finnie, CTO at Interoute.

Interoute’s VDC are said to offer public, private and hybrid cloud on one automated networked cloud platform. Last year it expanded its cloud platform to the US by launching VDCs in New York and Los Angeles.
