PCCW Global, China Telecom Global (CTG) and Chunghwa Telecom International (CHTI) have signed agreements to facilitate the interconnection of their IPX communities to create a unified IPX platform for Greater China.

The platform is designed to provide an integrated service to their carrier, multinational and consumer customers. It will support services such as VoIPX, GRX, diameter, HD calling, HD video conferencing, ethernet, cloud offerings and SDN.

In addition, the platform will connect IP services between mobile and fixed networks using MPLS as the transport layer.

According to Xiaofeng Deng, China Telecom Global’s CEO, it is a “top priority” to bolster long-term partnerships in the region as Greater China is one of the most booming economies in the world.

Marc Halbfinger, CEO of PCCW Global, said: “We are honoured to be working with CTG and CHTI to establish a seamless Greater China IPX network as a ‘bridge’ that will facilitate even tighter communication throughout the region, and to the rest of the world,” said

“The latest 4G services are enabling people to interact with greater flexibility for voice and data networks, and our collective IPX solution will serve to accelerate that process.”
