vXchnge acquires Sungard data centres
06 May 2015 |
Carrier-neutral co-location services provider vXchnge has acquired eight data centres from Sungard Availability Services (AS), in line with its strategy to purchase high-quality assets across the US.
vXchnge hopes these assets will support existing and growing customer developments in markets across the region.
“We see tremendous opportunity directly tied to this transaction. It accelerate our strategic presence in ‘edge’ based marketplaces for companies to grow their businesses,” said Keith Olsen, CEO at vXchnge.
“These marketplaces operate as deployment points for our customers’ network-enabled applications and cloud services that require safe, secure and resilient data centres.”
vXchnge will integrate Sungard AS’ business operations, staff and customer base, ensuring each data centre meets its standards.
"A key point to this transaction is that we retain the data centre operation teams in each location,” Olsen added.
“These operation teams have been delighting customers for years, and these markets, data centres and employees add to our existing footprint, which increases our operating scale and market reach.”
