Turkish operator Turkcell has appointed Kaan Terzioglu as chief executive, replacing Sureyya Ciliv.
After eight years at the helm, Ciliv stepped down from his position in January this year, and Terzioglu will take on the role from April 1.
Terzioglu is a board member at Turkey’s Akbank, insurance company Aksigorta, online electric retailer Teknosa and the Turkish arm of French supermarket chain Carrefour.
Prior to joining Turkcell, Terzioglu was director at Akbank, and also spent 12 years working for Cisco Systems in various managerial roles.
Earlier this month, Turkcell announced that it was ready to launch 4G services in Turkey.
