Congo Telecom to expand national network

State-owned Congo Telecom is set on expanding its network coverage to the north of the country in 2015, according to local reports.

General Administrator Akoula Akoula told reporters that the operator would expand its connectivity to both urban and rural areas in a bid to pursue international expansion.

Last year, Congo Telecom connected the towns of Dolisie, Nkayi, Kinkala, Ollombo and Oyo, and is now targeting coverage in Djambala, Gamboma, Owando and Mindouli in northern Congo Republic.

"Congo Telecom's long-term vision is to become a pillar in the country's digital transformation and a national leader in ICT, as well as in multimedia content," Akoula said.
