Italtel was awarded the “Cisco partner of the year award for EMEAR (Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia) for internet of things solutions 2014” at Cisco Live! to mark its commitment to developing the IoT sector.
Italtel has leveraged Cisco’s hardware and software technologies to develop a number of IoT products, in particular developing smart grid solutions for electric utilities.
In 2014, Italtel extended its IoT portfolio to the manufacturing market, with the partners announcing that network and IT technologies are providing real-time insight into manufacturing processes and allowing manufacturers to satisfy customers' demands more quickly, while reducing operating costs.
"Italtel steadily believes the internet of things can help industries to transform their operating strategies, thus gaining competitive advantage," said Camillo Ascione, head of Italtel's system integration strategy & marketing.
"Thanks to Cisco's innovative technology, we are actively working on several verticals, such as energy, manufacturing and transportation, partnering with our customers to drive their evolution towards IoT. We are proud of being awarded this prestigious prize that motivates us to go further on this path, also approaching other verticals, like retail and real estate."
