China Mobile Hong Kong has selected Ericsson to develop its converged LTE FDD/TDD and Evolved Packet Core network.

As part of the deal, Ericsson will provide the Hong Kong mobile operator with VoLTE technology. It will also supply its Ericsson Charging System, Evolved IP network solution and Proactive Support Services designed to further optimise the network.

“Our business vision, combined with Ericsson’s leadership in radio, IP core networks, operation and business support system and strong system support service, continues to ensure that we are able to provide our customers with a broad selection of customised services with best-in-class service quality,” said Sean Lee, director and CEO of China Mobile Hong Kong.

Ericsson has been the sole supplier of China Mobile Hong Kong's LTE FDD network, and its network partner for more than 17 years. It was also selected to expand the operator's commercial LTE network with TD-LTE (LTE TDD) in Hong Kong.
