Zayo executive joins IIX

Capacity Europe day 2 – Former Zayo executive Steve Williams has joined US-based solutions provider IIX as senior vice president of sales.

Williams previously held a senior sales leadership position at Zayo and his role at IIX forms part of the company’s global expansion strategy.

Williams will oversee the expansion of IIX’s global sales team as it looks to address what IIX CEO Al Burgio describes as the growing market demand for secure, scalable and direct interconnection worldwide.

"We welcome Steve to IIX’s leadership team,” Burgio said. “We look forward to his valuable contributions to IIX’s global sales expansion, with his extensive industry experience and ability to drive year-over-year growth for the companies he has served."

As internet traffic grows exponentially across the globe, so too are DDoS attacks as well as other security threats, and IIX’s bypass solution is designed to provide customers with a secure connectivity option regardless of their location.

“Innovation and new technology are key to supporting the evolution of next-generation direct interconnection,” said Williams.

“I’m excited to join IIX’s exceptional team and to build on the company’s software and interconnection platform to help IIX reach its goal of delivering fast, simple and secure interconnections solutions globally to benefit both our customers and their end users.”

IIX was one of the first customers of the DE-CIX New York facility in January this year, and later in October the company acquired UK-based software and interconnection company Allegro Networks.
