Intelsat supports HBO in Latin America

Intelsat is to provide its satellite services to HBO Latin American Group (LAG) as part of a new agreement.
The multi-year deal will see HBO LAG leverage three of Intelesat’s satellites to distribute programming to cable, direct-to-home and IPTV providers across Latin America.
The move is said to allow HBO LAG to increase its HD channel line-up and provide access to millions of viewers throughout Latin America.
“HBO LAG had very specific goals with respect to its distribution in the Latin America region, not the least of which was optimising reach and enhancing operational performance," said Carmen González-Sanfeliu, Intelsat’s VP of Latin America and the Caribbean.
"Intelsat is uniquely positioned to offer programmers of the calibre of HBO LAG with distribution solutions that maximise viewership and advance their growth objectives,”
