The deal will see Huawei deliver managed services for MTN Group in six countries including Ghana, Cameroon, Guinea and Benin, where the firm has global operations.
Huawei’s services will include managed network operations, network performance management and spare parts management, and they are expected to support the surge in data usage in these countries.
MTN and Huawei share a long-term relationship and just last month, the pair completed a successful live trial of a transport SDN and 2.4Tbps WDM network in South Africa.
Over the next five years, Huawei will continue to operate, optimise, transform and improve MTN’s operations and services with its Managed Services Unified Platform (MSUP).
