Telstra brings cloud enterprise service to UK

Telstra has launched its cloud-based enterprise service, Whispir Conversation Platform, in the UK.

The service enables organisations to communicate with customers, employees and the community via SMS, voice, web, email, mobile data and social media networks

Telstra claims that Whispir’s customer base has quadrupled to over 1.6 million users in less than two years and sees significant growth opportunities in the UK, which it will serve via its global network that extends to more than 2,000 PoPs.

The service will also be available in other global locations from the end of August.

“This is just one of many cloud-based applications now integrated into our global network and available on-demand, enabling customers to respond quickly to changing business priorities and better anticipate challenges ahead,” said Nathan Bell, director of marketing, portfolio and pricing at Telstra Global Enterprise and Services.

Telstra has rapidly expanded its cloud services portfolio in 2014. Earlier in August, it launched a global cloud unified communications service designed to enable businesses to collaborate in real time across the globe. In June, it also extended its cloud infrastructure services to the US.
