Hrvatski Telekom pens managed services deal with Ericsson

Croatia’s Hrvatski Telekom has signed a five-year managed services agreement with Swedish vendor Ericsson.

A member of the Deustche Telekom Group, Hrvatski Telekom has selected Ericsson as its partner in the construction and maintenance of telecoms infrastructure in Croatia.

The deal will include planning and construction of fixed and mobile networks, maintenance of telecoms infrastructure, telecoms network monitoring and field maintenance of active access and passive networks.

“Through this agreement, Hrvatski Telekom intends to increase the quality of infrastructure and simultaneously optimise costs related to the construction and maintenance of fixed and mobile networks,” said Davor Tomazkovic, president of the management board and CEO at Hrvatski Telekom.

“We have chosen a good and reliable partner who will increase the quality of our electronic communications network at the highest level and at optimal costs.”

Additionally, 640 Hrvatski Telekom employees will be transferred to Ericsson’s Croatian affiliate Ericsson Nikola Tesla Servisi.

“While extending our relationship with Hrvatski Telekom and the Deutsche Telekom Group, we will use our expertise…to improve end-user experience and optimise network operating costs,” said Jean-Claude Geha, VP and head of managed services at Ericsson.
