Huawei opens innovation centre in Germany

China’s Huawei has today revealed the launch of an innovation centre at SAP’s headquarters in Walldorf, Germany.

Officially opened on July 21, the facility is designed to carry out performance and standards testing, demonstrate product and solution capabilities, as well as training certification.

“Although Huawei and SAP come from different worlds, we share a complementary vision for the future,” said Kevin Tao, president of Huawei Western Europe.

“We look forward to building a comprehensive partnership with SAP to collaborate on technologies and innovations such as the SAP HANA platform, cloud data centre technology, mobility, smart city, big data, M2M and others to complement our respective strengths and capabilities.”

The Huawei Innovation Center will sit at the “Partner-Port Walldorf” in Germany, and will allow Huawei to support market activity across Europe, the Middle East and Africa over the next two years.

“Through the opening of Huawei’s Innovation Center at the Partner-Port in Walldorf, our teams can now bring our complementary assets together to help simplify our customers’ IT landscapes and innovate breakthrough solutions,” added Alex Atzberger, chief of staff at SAP.

Earlier this month, Huawei partnered with LG Uplus to develop a mobile innovation centre (MIC) in Seoul, South Korea.
