Orange is targeting growth in Spain and is looking at potential acquisitions in the country, according to the company's CEO.

Stephane Richard, CEO of Orange Group, added that the company is also exploring a range of acquisition targets in Belgium, Poland and Romania.

The company announced last week it did not intend to take part in pending French consolidation plans, after rumours that it was in talks to merge with Bouygues Telecom.

Richard told Reuters that if the company had to name one country for acquisition targets “it would be Spain”, but added that Orange could still look into a merger with Bouygues if the right package was presented.
