BT Wholesale and O2 have extended their existing partnership for a further five years to include the development of a suite of ICT services.

BT Wholesale and O2 signed an initial partnership in 2009, which allowed O2 to enter the fixed-line market. The renewed deal is worth hundreds of millions of pounds over the next five years, according to a statement.

The two companies will work together to create an integrated suite of ICT solutions for UK businesses, including mobile, Ethernet, and fibre broadband.

“We have seen a huge increase in the demand for integrated ICT services since we launched our first offering three years ago,” said Ben Dowd, business director at O2. “Our relationship with BT Wholesale brings together world-class mobile and fixed-line connectivity so we can offer our business customers the best possible suite of services now and for the future.”

O2 will also benefit from BT Wholesale’s extensive national Ethernet network and product portfolio.

“Our national fibre network, Ethernet footprint and market-leading portfolio of wholesale products will support O2 in offering reliable and high-quality connectivity that meets the growing expectations of both public and private-sector organisations,” said Nigel Stagg, CEO at BT Wholesale.

In March this year, BT Wholesale partnered with smart networking provider GENBAND to enhance the roaming experience of its customers.
