Telecom Italia selects BroadSoft for unified communications
31 March 2014 |
Telecom Italia has signed an agreement with vendor BroadSoft to power the operator’s newly revealed unified communications service for medium and large enterprises.
Nuvola It Comunicazione Integrata is an integrated voice, data and applications service and Telecom Italia will leverage BroadSoft’s cloud platforms to enable the offering of services such as hosted PBX, SIP trunking and audio conferencing.
“We were looking for a partner to power advanced unified communications that meet the varied needs of medium and large enterprises throughout Italy,” said Enrico Trovati, business marketing director at Telecom Italia.
Trovati said that the simplicity of BroadSoft technology enabled Telecom Italia to dramatically reduce the time-to-market of Nuvola, as well as deliver an innovative, mobile end user experience.
“From the infrastructure point of view, BroadSoft’s solution is well-suited to maximise the benefit of our cloud infrastructure,” Trovati added. “In addition, we experienced an extreme straightforwardness in integrating BroadSoft technology into Nuvola.”
The Nuvola service is designed to suit medium and large enterprises, allowing them access to business services across a variety of mobile devices.
“The flexibility inherent to Telecom Italia’s offering ensures that businesses can rapidly reap the full productivity, efficiency and cost benefits cloud-delivered communications capabilities are designed to provide,” said Michael Tessler, CEO at BroadSoft.
Earlier this month, Telecom Italia was thought to be mulling the acquisition of a stake in Italian fibre network provider Metroweb.
