Inmarsat deploys CSG billing solution

London-based satellite provider Inmarsat has deployed CSG International’s billing solution to support the new Inmarsat Global Xpress service.

Inmarsat launched the first of three satellites into orbit for the first part of its Global Xpress (GX) network in December last year. It is expected to become the first Ka-band network in the world to provide mobile users with broadband speeds of up to 50Mbps at a lower cost.

“Our commercial success requires robust revenue management and billing solutions that enable us to take the complexity out of global high-speed connectivity and allow us to support the growing needs of our partners and customers,” said Leo Mondale, MD of growth management and support at Inmarsat.

CSG’s billing platform, CSG Singleview, and CSG Intermediate – an offline and online network mediation platform – will support the GX network by managing wholesale channels and reseller billing partners.

“Our holistic billing and mediation solution will allow Inmarsat Global Xpress to evolve, adapt, and adjust to changing market needs while staying far ahead of the competition,” said George Fraser, VP of Europe, the Middle East and Africa at CSG.
