Ezentis wins $100 million Telefónica Chile fibre-optic contract
15 October 2013 | Kavit Majithia
Spanish technology group Ezentis has claimed its Chilean subsidiary has won a $100 million fibre-optic contract from Telefónica.
According to the terms of the deal, Ezentis will develop and maintain copper and fibre lines to handle Telefónica Chile’s customer service for telecoms, broadband and pay TV services.
The company operates in several Latin American countries, including Chile and Panama, and it has also won contracts in Peru and Argentina.
Ezentis was forced to refinance its debt last year, after suffering a range of losses in the market in a bid to turn the business around.
