Nokia Solutions and Networks (NSN) has extended its long-term partnership with UK-based Juniper Networks to include secure IP connectivity for mobile broadband networks.

The companies are now jointly able to deliver reliable IP connectivity solutions to allow operators to meet the low-latency and high capacity requirements of LTE networks.

David Fremaux, VP of strategic alliances at Juniper Networks, said: “The advent of LTE means that mobile networks have become focussed on the transition to IP. NSN and Juniper together deliver an exemplary knowledge base and experience of mobile and IP technology.”

The IP solutions focus on four key areas for high-performance mobile broadband including next generation mobile backhaul, radio access security, mobile site connectivity and carrier-grade NAT.

Gerhard Staudenherz, head of OEM products business line at NSN, said: “Joint solution development with Juniper Networks ensures smooth network integration and high quality for our customers. Our end-to-end solutions based on open standards undergo thorough interoperability testing, which translates into cost savings for operators.”

In September this year, NSN completed a live TD-LTE network trial, claimed to demonstrate that Authorised Shared Access (ASA) can offer operators extra capacity.
