Orange launches LTE signalling service for international roaming

The wholesale division of Orange has launched an LTE signalling service for 4G international roaming.

The service is designed to enable operators to provide customers with an improved 4G service while roaming outside their home country.

Through establishing direct connectivity and peering agreements with major carriers, Orange claims to be able to offer connectivity with LTE networks across Europe, the Americas and Asia.

“The group’s Open Connectivity policy and extensive peering agreements allow us to provide wholesale clients with the opportunity to benefit from a large coverage,” said Alexandre Pébereau, EVP of international carriers, Orange.

The LTE signalling service is available through the company’s IPX, which is said to offer connectivity to 30 PoPs worldwide. It adds to Orange’s portfolio of roaming solutions for operators, which also includes data and value-added services.

“LTE signalling is a must-have service that offers both differentiation and the ability to generate additional revenues in an increasingly evolving market,” added Pébereau.
