Hector Silva, Ciena

Ciena has appointed Hector Silva as CTO and strategic sales leader for the Caribbean and Latin American (CALA) region.

Silva’s role will see him lead Ciena’s network architecture teams in CALA, and work alongside local sales teams to offer expertise on existing trends, such as cloud computing, mobile video, SDN and network function virtualisation.

Silva has over 15 years of experience in the telecoms and technology arena, and previously held leadership positions in systems engineering and strategic sales at Ciena.

“Hector has strong technical skills across the Ciena portfolio,” said Fabio Medina, general manager and VP of sales for Ciena in the CALA region.
