Philippines-based Smart Communications has held additional LTE-Advanced services trials in the metro cities of Manila and Davao.

The company first held trials in Makati City in cooperation with Chinese vendor Huawei. The trials achieved speeds of up to 209.66Mbps.

This increased to 210.58Mbps in Davao City, and the company also performed tests on file downloads with a 10 MB file, taking five seconds to download from an FTP server on its existing LTE network. The same trial took a second via an LTE-A network, the company said.

LTE-A was deployed over a Wifi network.
