Level 3 signs gaming partnership
22 August 2013 |
UK-based gaming software provider Mastertronic has selected Level 3 Communication’s CDN solution for enhanced download speeds.
Level 3’s CDN solution facilitates a global network of servers and the partnership is designed to ensure purchased games can be downloaded quickly and efficiently to reduce what is typically a lengthy process.
The solution will detect the customer’s location and select the server nearest to them to ensure the shortest delivery path is utilised.
“The vast majority of our online business is game downloads, so we needed to work with a company capable of providing sufficient bandwidth to delivery content to our customers fast,” said Chris Dove, IT systems manager at Mastertronic.
“Working with Level 3 means we now have the bandwidth to provide a great gaming experience to customers.”
Level 3 will also deliver its storage facility to provide Mastertronic customers with flexible power, space and management options.
Yesterday, Level 3 signed a contract with the state of South Carolina for web and audio conferencing.
