BH Telecom reveals H1 figures
21 August 2013 |
State-owned BH Telecom has reported first half profits of 65.1 million Bosnian marka ($44.4 million).
For the same period last year, BH Telecom posted a profit of 65.45 million marka.
The Bosnian operator is said to be struggling with increasing competition from rival, privately-owned firms, according to Reuters.
Total income for H1 2013 amounted to 285.5 million marka and the company is reportedly working hard to amend its business strategy to fit emerging market conditions and maintain a leader position.
BH Telecom is 90% owned by the Bosnian government and its services cover the majority of the country’s autonomous Federation dominated by Bosnian Muslims or Bosniaks.
In March this year, BH Telecom partnered with Nokia Siemens Networks to upgrade its network to 3G.
