Turkcell completes successful 900Mbps trial of 4G
01 August 2013 | Natasha Culzac
Turkcell has successfully reached 4G speeds of 900Mbps in a recent trial, claiming to have broken a record in the country.
Tests were carried out in a laboratory environment, with technical support from Huawei, and Turkcell said it is one of very few operators to have reached the speed.
“To offer best quality 3G service to our customers, Turkcell has reflected its infrastructure power, obtained as a result of the investments it has made, in order to provide the best experience parallel to its Technologies,” said Sureyya Ciliv, Turkcell CEO.
“In an era where the speed margin in mobile Internet has increased daily, we are proud not only to introduce our customers to advancements in technology, but to also be the technology frontier of Turkey.”
Earlier this year, Turkcell was in dispute with the UK Privy Council over the company’s ownership.
