Cisco completes Composite Software take over

Cisco has completed its acquisition of software technology provider Composite Software.

Composite delivers software technology which connects data from across a network, making it appear to be in one place, and the acquisition is expected to extend Cisco’s next-generation services platform.

Cisco will further benefit from the expansion of its existing Smart Services portfolio through Composite’s data and infrastructure connection.

All Composite employees will join the Cisco Services team, headed by Mala Anand, SVP at Cisco Services Platforms Group and Mike Flannagan, senior director and general manager of the Integration Brokerage Technology Group.

The leading equipment vendor will reportedly pay $180 million in cash and retention-based incentives for all shares in Composite.

The acquisition follows Cisco’s announcement last month that it has been selected as official network provider for the Commonwealth Games 2014 in Glasgow.
