Tele2 Norway selects Ericsson for 4G roll-out

Tele2’s Norwegian business has partnered with Ericsson for the deployment of a 4G network in the country.

Under terms of the agreement, Ericsson will upgrade Tele2’s existing 2G and 3G networks to enable nationwide next-generation coverage.

Ericsson will act as the main vendor for radio access solutions across all standards and the company will focus heavily on service as well as network upgrades, according to reports.

"We started a strategic partnership with Tele2 in Norway in 2008 and this development is an important milestone,” said Robert Puskaric, president of Ericsson’s northern Europe and central Asia region.

“We are committed to provide enhanced mobile experience for Tele2's subscribers across the country."

The agreement is in alignment with Tele2’s strategy to advance its market position and offer additional services to customers.

Earlier this month, Ericsson signed a deal with Swisscom for the launch of global LTE roaming services.
