Deutsche Telekom could acquire GTS CE

Deutsche Telekom is reportedly considering a buyout of Poland-based GTS Central Europe.

A deal worth €600 million has been touted, as the German operator looks to beef up its operation in eastern Europe.

The Wall Street Journal Deutschland also reports that the German operator is also looking to acquire the remaining 40% stake in its T-Mobile unit in Czech Republic from private equity company Mid Europa Partners, citing a source close to the situation.

Deutsche Telekom chief executive Andreas Liegers declined to comment on the deal. GTS CE also declined to comment.

GTS CE has sales of approximately €387 million, and is a portfolio company of the Innova Capital Fund.
