The solution is designed to utilise NSN’s Flexi Content Optimizer offering, which adjusts video content to fit smartphone screen sizes, and real-time congestion awareness, to enable operators to offer enhanced video quality on users’ devices.
“More people than ever are using video streaming applications on their smartphones,” said Antti Romppane, head of packet core product management at NSN.
The optimisation service is an extension of NSN’s Liquid Broadband launched in February this year, and is further expected to reduce radio network loading by 25% and deliver video streaming with up to 90% less stalling.
“By bringing together our capabilities for best ever video, operators can ensure that subscribers have a smooth viewing experience even during congested busy hours,” Romppanen said.
