Unitel signs monitoring deal with Astellia

07 March 2013 |

Monitoring solutions provider Astellia has signed an agreement with Unitel Angola to use its troubleshooting and performance monitoring systems to provide a complete picture of the Angolan telco’s 2G, 3G and 4G mobile traffic from radio access network (RAN).

The resulting data is intended to help technicians to quickly and efficiently identify network issues and better target network optimisation activities.

“Astellia’s track record and global experience in passive network monitoring will help us gain more visibility and control of what is happening on our network,” said Amílcar Safeca, deputy CEO at Unitel Angola.

“Hereby, we can increase problem resolution efficiency and increase our knowledge of our subscribers’ usage.”

The agreement follows Unitel’s recent decision to reserve $1.35 billion for network investment in Angola from 2013-2015.
