M2M alliance demonstrates managed SIM card trials

The M2M multi-operator alliance has announced that it will demonstrate the technical capability to enable a single worldwide SIM card and announced the addition of UAE carrier Etisalat to the fold.

The alliance, consisting of KPN, NTT DoCoMo, Rogers, SingTel, Telefónica, Telstra and VimpelCom, aims to simplify multi-network M2M deployments for multinational companies in retail, healthcare, consumer electronics, transportation and energy.

All alliance members offer an M2M platform for enterprises based on Jasper Wireless’ Control Centre, which is connected to Giesecke & Devrient’s subscription management platform to enable subscription swapping.

Throughout the Mobile World Congress event alliance members will demonstrate SIM management capability and over-the-air subscription updates on connected tablets.
